Vaughan Johansen

SAILING DIRECTOR
Vaughan Johansen holds a USCG Captain’s Licence and has been an adult educator for over 20 years. He has taught sailboat cruising since 2010 and instructed over 100 cruising courses.

“Sailing is about being present. It’s about multi-tasking. It’s a series of situations with rapidly changing variables. Being a skipper has taught me to remain calm under pressure, to be adaptable, to be independent, to be creative, and to value the support from myself and from those working with me.”

Therese co-authored the Team Captain Program and continues to support the Program through review of feedback and continuous improvement.

She is also an avid sailor and cruiser, having sailed in local waters, on Great Slave Lake in the NWT, and recently cruised offshore along the coast of Mexico.
